Over two working days, authorities from the Government of Catamarca and the Polkadot Blockchain Academy held a series of meetings aimed at exploring the implementation of blockchain technology across various areas of the provincial government.
In this context, Governor Raúl Jalil received at the Government House the CBO of Polkadot Blockchain Academy, Marina Marchesotti, together with institution members Carlos Aguiló, Giselle Heleg and María Sdrigotti. Members of his cabinet and provincial deputy Gustavo Aguirre also participated in the meeting.
The mission of the meeting was to open a space for dialogue on how blockchain technology can be applied across various strategic areas of the province, as well as to analyse real opportunities to drive innovation, transparency and efficiency in public management and productive development.
The agenda included an exchange on concrete use cases that could contribute to resolving local challenges whilst simultaneously generating new economic dynamics based on decentralised technological infrastructure.
The Polkadot Blockchain Academy team also met with provincial officials, among them the heads of the Ministries of Education, Production, Labour and Health, as well as representatives of the National University of Catamarca. More than 35 decision-makers participated in the convening, evidencing the relevance of the subject for the province.
In addition, Marchesotti and Aguiló delivered an open talk on blockchain, Polkadot and Web3 at the Technology Node, with the participation of around 69 attendees, including government technical teams, academic figures and special guests.

Provincial Programme
The meeting took place in the context of the legislative passage of the bill creating in Catamarca the “Programme for the Promotion of Research, Study and Development for the Practical Application of Blockchain Technology in the public and private sector of the province.”
The initiative, authored by deputy Gustavo Aguirre, seeks to promote the practical incorporation of blockchain across various areas of public administration and the private sector, generating tools to foster the development of public and private enterprises linked to the provision of infrastructure, services, protocols, units of account, open-source codes, free software and hardware, across the various phases of implementation of this blockchain technology.
