Behavioral economist and Research Scientist at Parity Technologies, focused on economic questions regarding the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystem. Jonas analyzes and optimizes the interplay between human behavior and protocol design, applying insights from psychology and behavioral economics using empirical and experimental data. He holds a doctorate (Dr. rer. oec.) in behavioral and experimental economics from the University of Bern, awarded summa cum laude, alongside a master’s degree in Quantitative Economics from the University of Konstanz.
He spent over five years as a Research Scientist at Web3 Foundation, starting in 2020, before moving to Parity Technologies, and has served as a Guest Lecturer for the Polkadot Blockchain Academy’s Economics Module at venues including the University of Cambridge, UC Berkeley, Hong Kong, and Singapore. He is also Founder and CEO of G-dot Tech GmbH, providing staking services and token economics consulting across several blockchains, and Co-Founder of Behavioral Insights for Better Politics and Societies.
Jonas’s interest in blockchain traces back to 2016, when he recognized it as an elegant application of both economics and technology. To deepen that interest, he completed an extracurricular minor in computer science at the University of Bern and earned a certificate in Blockchain and FinTech from the University of Liechtenstein, as one of the first recipients of the Bank Frick scholarship.
