Engineering Lead and Core Protocol Engineer at Parity Technologies, where he has worked on Rust-based core protocol development since 2019. Kian also serves as a Faculty Lecturer at the Polkadot Blockchain Academy, teaching and advising on curriculum across its first five cohorts.
Before joining Parity, Kian built a broad engineering background spanning cloud infrastructure, full-stack web development, and distributed systems, including cluster infrastructure and migration tooling as a Cloud Engineer at Simtech Consulting, and full-stack Angular development for startups Bajiru and Fidilio, where he also authored a published guide to AngularJS.
He holds a master’s degree in Parallel and Distributed Computer Systems from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a bachelor’s in Computer Software Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology. Driven by a practical curiosity about what blockchains are actually useful for beyond the hype, Kian brings that same grounded, systems-level thinking to both his engineering work and his teaching.
