Web3 strategist and external CIO, widely known across the Polkadot community by his persona Alice und Bob. Tommi specializes in ecosystem development, governance, analytics, and crypto-economics, drawing on a background in systems architecture and political communication alongside 17 years of experience across IT leadership, marketing, and organizational development, including leading IT for 2,500 users and running marketing funnels reaching 200,000 contacts. He previously held CIO and CMO roles before founding Escape Velocity Consulting, where he now offers “CIO as a Service” to SMEs undergoing digitalization and automation.
From 2024 to 2026, Tommi led Ecosystem Development for Polkadot, professionalizing the Polkadot DAO’s governance, financial transparency, and strategic planning. He curated the Polkadot Roadmap and the “Polkadot 2.0” growth strategy, authored the ecosystem’s first Treasury Reports and compliance frameworks (overseeing more than $100M in annual spending) and orchestrated the Polkadot Builder Party, a global hackathon spanning 50 meetups worldwide.
Within the Polkadot ecosystem, Tommi co-founded ChaosDAO and OpenGov.Watch, and authored RFC-0006, a dynamic pricing model for Polkadot’s Bulk Coretime sales. He also lectures at the Polkadot Blockchain Academy on OpenGov and tokenomics. He holds an MSc in Knowledge Management and IT Security, with a thesis on agile software development and governance in open-source communities.
