Exclusiva – Global Leaders Spoke at the FORUM on ‘The Future is Web3.’

November 19th, 2025

Experts of recognised international standing gathered in Santiago del Estero to unpack the impact of blockchain technology and Web 3.0, highlighting its potential in autonomy, transparency and social transformation, at a large-scale free event driven by the provincial Government.

To a substantial turnout, the Forum Convention Centre hosted this Wednesday the opening day of a key technology gathering. Driven by the provincial Government, the event seeks to decode how technology is redefining the future. Students, professionals, entrepreneurs and the general public had free access to talks, workshops and cutting-edge panels featuring internationally renowned specialists.

The opening included the participation of Marina Paola Marchesotti and Pauline Cohen Vorms, from the Polkadot Blockchain Academy (PBA), alongside the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Matilde O’Mill, representing the provincial Government.

Marchesotti emphasised the mission of the gathering: “The idea is to showcase the tools that young people need to know, and what the most in-demand competencies will be in a world shaped by artificial intelligence, digital traceability and decentralisation.”

The session then focused on blockchain technology. The keynote talk, “Blockchain and Youth: Innovation, Autonomy and Social Transformation,” was delivered by Primavera De Filippi, who highlighted the disruptive nature of this technology. “Blockchain is a very disruptive technology. When it first appeared, voices were heard saying it would be the technology that would return power to the people. Its technological design is decentralised in such a way that the use of intermediaries can be avoided. One of its uses is that it allows economic transactions to be made without a bank,” she explained.

Another central panel was “From Users to Creators: Understanding the Web3 Revolution,” featuring Carlos Aguiló and Lovisa Björna. Both explained that Web 3.0 “seeks to advance towards the read, write and own paradigm, in which the creators of data not only own and control it, but also have greater decision-making power over how it is used and managed,” with the aim of transforming end users from mere customers into shareholders and participants.

The event also included a presentation by Alan Cura on “Guardians ID: Web3 Innovation for Identity and the Regional Economy.” Cura linked his arrival in the country to the Ball project, a technology initiative for Argentine football that will develop a digital passport for supporters, based on decentralised identity and Polkadot’s Web3 infrastructure.

Thursday’s Agenda

The gathering will continue this Thursday at 15:00 with the keynote conference delivered by Dr. Gavin Wood, creator of Polkadot and co-founder of Ethereum, who will address one of the central themes of his global agenda: “blockchain as a new social contract and opportunity for growth.”
